I love art but don't own it, for the same reason I love literature but do not own first editions.
Instead I have coffee table books of Leonardo's paintings, Escher's etchings, Ansel's photos. My hard drive is full of hi-res scans of Vermeers and Van Goghs. I have a couple of beautiful lithographs I picked up in a garage sale.
It ain't the same, but it's the best I am able to do.
Wouldn't I love to have a Rodin, a Noguchi, or one of the contemporary paintings I lust after? Of course. Do I have, minimum, $5,000 to spend on my walls? Nope.
